2nd Annual Library Survey is Live
It's baaa-aaaack!  The Wayne High School Library wants to know what you think of the current collection and available holdings, general current library services, and what we need to improve.  To participate in the survey, click on the Wayne High School Library link in the navigation bar at the left.  From the library's page, look for a link that says, "How're We Doing?  Take Our Survey!" (under the picture) The survey will remain live and active until May 1, 2009, when it will be closed for analysis.  This survey is more important than you think!  We use the results of this survey to improve services, order books and magazines, and make changes that benefit you!  Don't delay!  Complete a survey today!

Skills USA Blows 'Em Away in Beckley!
Our award-winning Graphic Arts and Career-Technical students have done it again!  They totally floored the competition this past weekend in Beckley, WV, at the Academy of Career Technology for the Skills USA Competition!  Wayne High School won four gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals.  These students will compete again this coming summer, June 21-26, at the National Skills USA Competition in Kansas City, Missouri!  Congratulations to the following students:

Recycle Life! Donate Blood!
The American Red Cross will have a blood drive in the Wayne High School Gym on Thursday, March 26, 9:00-2:00.  Recycle Life flip flops will be presented to the donors, but ONLY while supplies last, so DON'T BE LATE!  Recycle life!  Donate blood!

Congratulations to the HOSA students who participated in the HOSA Competition at Marshall Unviersity this past weekend!  The following students won and placed in various competitions:

The Parent-Teacher Conference for second semester is set for next WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 4:00-6:30 PM.  Report cards will go out MONDAY, MARCH 9.  We cordially invite all parents to attend Parent-Teacher Conference.

Congratulations to Mrs. Dyer and her students for winning the following awards this past Friday at the 2009 United High School Media AWards:

Newspaper:  1st place--best overall newspaper, best design, best in-depth reporting and best photography
                  2nd place--best art, best editorial pages, best sports pages, best newswriting, best ads
                  3rd place--best features pages

Yearbook:  1st place--best overall yearbook, best cover, best copywriting, best advertisements, best theme

                 2nd place--best graphics, best design

                 3rd place--best photography and best division pages


These hard-working newspaper and yearbook students also won $250 for the best essay.  The following students won individual awards:


Casey Shreve--Most Promising Student Journalism Student, $500 Scholarship, 1st place best editorial, 1st place best feature, 2nd place best feature photo and best infographic


Nikki Dotson--1st place, best sports story
